Welcome to EVAN
The Eastern Virginia AIDS Network began in 1983 as a group of friends helping friends who were dying from AIDS. Over time our agency has grown and adapted to the changes we have seen as our understanding of HIV and AIDS and the care it requires has evolved. We now offer:

- Meals Programs
- Housing Programs
- Free Confidential HIV Testing
- HIV Prevention Education and Counseling
Over time we have made the transition from helping people who were dying of AIDS to helping people who are living with HIV and AIDS. EVAN is staffed and ready to answer questions, provide care and serve as a resource for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
EVAN began with a personal commitment to help others and we are still dedicated to that principle today. We are proud to work with community health partners, State and Federal agencies, local churches, businesses, colleges and community volunteers to provide quality services to our clients. Together we can make a difference in the lives and the health of Eastern Virginia.
Over 1/3 of the people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in Virginia live in Eastern Virginia. In 2011 EVAN served 1,241 clients and tested 1,500 people for HIV.
